About Us

Who are we? Well, we are jewelry lovers, just like you—we really enjoy adorning ourselves and our friends with beautiful jewelry!  We are also members and supporters of the Fair Trade Federation. We have been in business since 1983 when Roberta was in India for her first time and bought $600 worth of jewelry she hoped her friends would like.  We have worked with many of the same suppliers in India and Thailand since the early beginnings of our business, and even still have a few loyal customers who have been buying and selling our jewelry since 1983, amazingly enough.  It has been, and continues to be, a great pleasure for us to be able to work with such kind and decent people who are committed to providing fair wages and clean, well-lighted working conditions for their artisans. It is heartening to see the radical improvement in all of their life styles over these years. Our customers and sales reps are all wonderful people and good friends as well. Our customers rave about the enormous range of styles and designs in our collection—we aspire to have a large selection of ever-changing styles for women of all ages and tastes in stock at all times. We also get good reviews for our courteous and attentive customer service. Through a long process of “trial and error”, we are happy to say that we are continuing to discover “the good stuff that sells”, which we are all always on the lookout for! The almost miraculous success of our business is often a mystery to us, as it has been and continues to be an organically unfolding process. But we suspect it may have something to do with the fact that as the “Search Widens”, we are discovering an ever-widening network of friends working together in America to support each other’s prosperity, as well as that of our business friends and highly-skilled artisans in India and Thailand. Another of the “secrets” of our success, we suspect, is that we have learned to “keep the flow flowing” by giving generously of our profits to a number of deserving charitable organizations.

As our understanding of good design and how to create a business that “works” has been refined and honed throughout all these years, so has our understanding of the immense possibilities of how ethical fair-trade businesses can make an enormous difference in creating “A New Earth”—something I know we are all deeply interested in and committed to. I welcome you to this ever-growing, strong, and positive family of friends who are playing a very big part in birthing a new world!
